This is the first
quilt I have ever completed for a show. Needless to say, I
have a wide range of emotions that surface in sundry ways in my
work. When I received the 2005 Summerfair t-shirt, I focused
on the red/pink and greens, and thought of one of my favorite summer
treats – watermelon! So, I cut up the pieces and
arranged them into a juicy slice of watermelon. After that,
the quilt began to take on a life of its own. This is my
first attempt at a piece like this one, so please…be gentle.
